How to save Whatsapp status on Android

Whatsapp keep on updating it’s application to make it more comfortable to its users. You may also aware that one more update from Whatsapp, new text color feature in Whatsapp.
As a recent update, you may have seen image/video status update and after that brought back Text status update back.However you can get previous version of Whatsappeasily. In this post lets see how to save Whatsapp status video and image.

Before proceeding to save the Whatsapp status video, image or gif, first you have to open/watch status in Whatsapp, in order to load the status image/video to your mobile temporarily. Check below provided ways.

•  Open Whatsapp in your mobile.

•  Open any image/video status of your friends and watch/load it.

In order to save  Whatsapp status image/video of your friend, you need to have File explorer. I prefer ES File Explorer to download, which is available in Play store.

After successful installation of File Explorer, follow the steps below:

1. Open the File Explorer application.
2.  Go to Whatsapp folder and open media inside ‘Whatsapp’ folder.
3.  Click on “three dots icon” on top right corner of the app and you will get certain options.                                          
4.  Click on “Show hidden Files”.(in some devices you can find it in settings) 
5.  Now you can see “Statuses”(.statuses) folder inside the ‘Whatsapp’ Folder, Open the “Statuses” folder.                                           
6.  Now you can see all the videos and images, which are currently status of your friends and one things is you can only see statuses, which you have watched in Whatsapp.

Images and videos are already saved once you have watched them in Whatsapp, but note that those images and videos will be deleted once your friends delete his/her status or after 24 hrs.

So you can copy the image or video and save in your mobile as local copy to watch it later.

•  Click on “three dots” icon.
  Click on copy option and then select the video or image you want to save and then paste them in your phone (in a different folder).
